Joining the podcast this episode are the incredible and talented creators of the Norse Goddess Rune Oracle - Rebecca Joy "Raven" Stark and Sharon McCleod. Raven is a rune practitioner, a volva, and a teacher of runes and Norse spirituality. Sharon is an artist/illustrator inspired by nature, myth, magic, and all thing otherworldly.
Together they created the amazing Norse Goddess Rune Oracle which connects the power of Norse goddesses and beings with the power of the runes for use in divination, magic, and relationship with divine powers.
The deck focuses on the 24 runes of the Elder Futhark; and to increase the number of goddesses to connect with, merkstave cards are included bringing the deck to 39 red-edged cards.
Hear about their wonderful friendship, how they worked with the goddesses of the deck as well as those who are not featured, and other interesting topics of conversation.
You can pick up the deck from your favorite metaphysical shop (support community business when you can), from Llewellyn Books or Blue Angel Publishing, or from an online retailer.

70 Gifts of the Wyrd: Madame Onca, Yultide Monsters Oracle
Saturday Oct 14, 2023
Saturday Oct 14, 2023
“Do you like the wild beast-man Krampus? Do you like the giant Yule Cat of Iceland? The deep of midwinter invites you to settle down by the fire with a seasonal beverage and this darkly folky oracle deck.”
Then do we have an oracle deck for you! The Yultide Monsters Oracle by Madame Onca O'Leary.
Joining me on this episode is the amazing and superbly talented Madame Onca. Madame Onca is an artist, writer, and entertainer. She is co-author of the World Spirit Tarot (a RWS-style deck with a focus on inclusivity and empowerment), the Yuletide Monsters Advent Calendar, and other products associated with the world of Krampus.
For the winter season this year, Madame Onca has created the Yuletide Monsters Oracle for Yule-tide/Krampus season. It is currently a Kickstarter project (open until Oct 22, 2023) which is FULLY funded and ready to print. After Oct. 22, the deck can be ordered at Madame Onca Studios on Etsy.
Find out a lot of background about the characters, how the deck works, how the art was created, and more. An interesting discussion about a really cool deck.

63 Gifts of the Wyrd: Witches of Triora Deck
Friday Oct 14, 2022
Friday Oct 14, 2022
Bela Siol is back with another beautiful deck to share honoring the witches of Triora, Italy, with her new oracel deck - The Witches of Triora.
The witches of this area are akin to the Seeresses of the Germanic north and others who practiced the craft. Bela has created other beautiful decks including the Oracle of Nehalennia, the Oracle of Freya, and the Transformational Oracle of the Morrighan.
Bela talks about her passion for creating this deck as an honor and love project to the women who were accused of, tortured, and murdered as witches during inquisition.
She also goes into her visits to Triora and how those visits inspired the creation of the deck and the ancestors who whispered to her and others.
Support Bela and back the deck at https://bit.ly/3e0UMEk until October 31, 2022.
Check out Bela's other offerings at www.belasiol.com and the episodes she has joined me to talk about them. They make for great Halloween and Christmas gifts.

Sunday Jul 05, 2020
Sunday Jul 05, 2020
Listen in to a discussion with author Gunivortus Goos about his latest works to be translated into English (Germanic Magic) and updated (Goddess Holle). Both books are lengthy volumes filled with fantastic history and ways to connect to a Germanic based practice of Heathenry/Asastru.
Germanic magic is a modern system developed from Germanic folk practices and relationships with the Elder Futhark runes for an intensive magical experience today.
Goddess Holle is revised and expanded to include lore, folk tales from the region, and how she is connecting to people today.
Gunivortus' website (boudicca.de) includes all his books which are printed in Dutch, English, and German as well as articles, blog posts, and short audio files of stories and legends.
Order at Book Depository: Germanic Magic ; Goddess Holle

This episode I welcome Walter Freyrsson, author of the guidebook to The Wood and Bone and Path Unknown Gay Runic Oracle by St. Jinx.
We get a interesting insight from Walter as he collaborated with St. Jinx during the creation of this beautiful deck expressing runic mysteries through celebrating gay identity.
This episode is released during Pride month, June 2020. We remember the Stonewall riot that started the decades long fight for equality and non-discrimination that is still not over for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Transformational Oracle of the Morrighan deck by Bela Siol
This episode we are going to take a short visit to our Celtic neighbors to visit with oracle deck creator Bela Siol. Bela created the Nehalennia deck (see episode 22) and, as she is also working on a Freya oracle deck, I thought it would be nice to discuss with her about the deck she is creating for The Morrighan.
The Morrighan is a Goddess of the Celtic Pantheon and has close relations to Freya. I know many Heathens who work with The Morrighan, either regularly or occasionally. So She is very much connected to many people.

11 Gifts of the Wyrd: Viking Oracle Review
Saturday Jul 08, 2017
Saturday Jul 08, 2017
And we're back. After a 6 month hiatus, I'm pleased to be recording the podcast again. It's been a hectic spring and beginning of summer with computer issues, travel, and family things to work out. So it has delayed the timing and ability to record. But things have settled glad to ge the podcast going.
A huge note of thanks to Xander Folmer of Hughinn's Heathen Hof for the amazing logo and banners created for Gifts of the Wyrd. They are amazing and beautiful. I am really pleased with the image and working with him is amazing. Contact Xan for graphic design ideas and work you may need.
This episode we get caught up and comment about issues within the Heathen community regarding some groups choosing to make their Heathenry exclusive to those who do not fit their vision of a white, heterosexual, of certain European heritage, or other ways to exclude on immutable traits. Gifts of the Wyrd does not engage in that and stands by an inclusive Heathen practice with many other amazing groups and people. Together we can create safe spaces for people to learn, grow, worship, fellowship, and find community and allies.
Review of the Viking Oracle: The Viking Oracle is by Stacey Demarco with artwork by Jimmy Manton and published by Blue Angel Publishing.
After a little catch up session, I review the Viking Oracle. This will be a long episode, so it's ok to take some breaks at the natural stopping poings. About 25 minutes in or so will start the review. The next stopping point will be at about 43 minutes in with a music piece. Then finish out the remaining 40 minutes or so with discussion about the oracle deck. The deck review will be in three parts.
Introduction to the deck and artwork overall, the runes of the deck and the oracle part of the deck.
I hope you find this helpful with your decision about this deck.

3 Gifts of the Wyrd: Divination and Modern Practice:Gnosis
Tuesday Mar 22, 2016
Tuesday Mar 22, 2016
Episode 3: This episode Jan and Laine discuss divination and the modern practice of gnosis. During the section on divination, we talk about using runes for ourselves and as part of reading for others. We also discuss Spae and Seidh and our experiences in learning and doing it.
This leads into a discussion of "gnosis" in today's practice. What is UPG (unverified personal gnosis), shared gnosis, and m.u.s (made up sh - er stuff)? Is UPG valid and useful today?
